Australia Day

January 26^th, is the Australia Day.

Commemorating the day when the first Europeans arrived in Australia.

It was not until 1994, January 26, that this date became a fixed national public holiday.

In 1888, January 26 has become "New State Establishment Day".

It is a public holiday in all capitals except Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.

The National Australia Day Committee was established in 1979.

1994 is special for all states and territories,

They started celebrating a unified public holiday on the same day for the first time.
